9385 - Receptionist/Office Assistant, Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies


Position serves as receptionist for departmental administrative office. Screens and routes phone calls and walk in visitors. Assists students with administrative questions and needs; Provides clerical assistance as needed by faculty, staff, and students; Manages office mail; prepares responses to routine requests, sends and receives faxes. Assists in departmental event and meeting preparation.

 
High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Some college preferred. A minimum of one year's office experience preferably working with a variety of communications and materials in a high volume, customer service environment. Prefer some experience with university systems such as Student Information System, OneStart, or a comparable system. Evidence of strong written and communication skills with a variety of personnel and situations. Previous experience which required organizational ability, attention to detail, and ability to make decisions in a time sensitive, high volume environment. Must have knowledge of standard office equipment, computer, word processing, and some experience working with spreadsheets and databases. Excellent word processing skills. Must be able to understand and interpret directions and written materials. Evidence of strong customer service orientation, self-direction, and teamwork sills required.

This position is for 20 hours per week and may be scheduled up to 29 hours per week depending on peak periods.

Hourly rate is $10.00 with immediate start date.
