8995 - Academic Policy & Process Specialist


This position will support the Assistant Dean of the Faculties in Academic Affairs, and in that capacity will be able to respond to various constituencies on the IUPUI campus, to include faculty, academic administrators (deans and chairs), and individuals who support these roles within the schools, on issues related to understanding and application of academic policies and the processes that support them - to include (but not limited to) such things as sabbatical leaves, promotion and tenure, reappointments, leaves and terminations.

Additionally, this individual will support the faculty recruitment process, and graduate student academic appointments/insurance. Will provide assistance with administrative reviews of documents. Will create ad hoc reports. Will provide guidance to help ensure compliance with campus and University policies.

To be successful candidates should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines, and to ensure accuracy and confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor; advanced skills in Microsoft office components, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; experience with data reports and data analysis; collaborative work style; organized; self-starting; attention to detail.

 
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, plus at least 3 years’ experience in a college academic setting. Will consider equivalent combination of experience and education at a 2:1 ratio

Preferred: Knowledge of the university HRMS system, and a thorough knowledge and understanding of academic policies (both campus and university).
