8975 - Communications Assistant


Campus Facility Services (CFS) is the department behind the scenes at IUPUI. CFS touches every aspect of the campus, from maintenance and custodial needs, to parking and transportation, to high level building renovations and capital project planning and even off-campus support. As a part of CFS, Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is here to help people get where they need to go efficiently, conveniently and safely. Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is searching for an enthusiastic Communications Assistant to represent PTS and communicate its mission.

The primary responsibilities for the Communications Assistant are as follows: -Responsible for coordinating and implementing integrated marketing and comprehensive communication strategies plan for PTS. -Serve as communications specialist for the entire organization identifying outreach and promotional opportunities; coordinate all multimedia publications, print and electronic, including content and design. -Assist in the creation of a communications and marketing plan that advances the campus community’s understanding of parking and transportation services

 
The successful candidate must be able to proficiently use visual communication software, Microsoft Office products, Windows based programs, and desktop publishing/graphics software. Must possess ability to read and write fluently in English with professional business level verbal and written skills. Possesses skills to design and layout attractive and artistic formats for websites, pamphlets, newsletters, and other marketing materials. Able to work both independently and in a team environment, and to interact and communicate with a wide variety of people. Must be able to professionally represent the department to customers, media and other contacts.

Required: Associate’s degree in marketing or related field, with three (3) years experience in marketing or related field. OR; High School diploma, with five (5) years experience in marketing or related field

Preferred: Experience with publication of marketing/public relations communications and basic web design. Experience within a customer service industry.
