8822 - Associate Director, Undergraduate Recruitment


The School of Science at IUPUI is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic, self-directed and innovative individual to serve as an Associate Director of Undergraduate Recruitment. This position is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies to achieve the undergraduate recruitment and enrollment objectives for the School of Science.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to coordinating School undergraduate recruitment efforts—including events, communication, and relationship management—with the University, high schools, and other key community partners in STEM education. The Associate Director of Undergraduate Recruitment represents the School to prospective students, parents, high school science teachers and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process, manages the Science Ambassador Leadership Team and the Science Ambassador Recruitment Volunteer program, regularly analyzes data, and ensures that goals are progressing and being met.

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required. Experience working with volunteers highly desired. Experience working with high school students and/or teachers a plus. The successful candidate will have a record of strong personal initiative. In addition, the candidate must be adept at handling a variety of assignments simultaneously, working with students and families from a variety of different backgrounds, and building productive relationships and partnerships. Some travel is required as well as night and weekend responsibilities. A valid driver’s license is required along with a clean driving record. Individual must be able to lift boxes of materials and event equipment. Knowledge of IUPUI, state and federal guidelines pertaining to higher education and admission policies highly desired. Strong computer skills highly desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office required and knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) system is preferred. Sound understanding of web content management systems and social media a plus.

Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (marketing, communications, psychology, or business preferred), but degree with related experience will be considered. Must have at least 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions, marketing, sales, customer relations or related area.
