8765 - Pathology Filing Clerk (Part-time)

The Pathology Filing Clerk works a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week and maintains storage of the Pathology slides used in the department. This includes filing of all pathology slides as well as pulling slides from storage as needed. In addition to slide maintenance the file clerk will perform other clerical duties as assigned by the lab managers.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining an organized filing system, in accordance with departmental policy, for all pathology slides. • Files records and slide in the correct location. • Pulls records and slides from storage as requested. • Returns records and slides to storage when received back. • Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. • Assists with other clerical functions and duties as assigned.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

The candidate must have the following:

• Ability to work in a laboratory environment • Ability to file in numeric order • Good organization skills • Good attention to detail • Ability to work independently • Ability to lift 10 pounds • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Work Study is preferred, but not required.
