8444 - Mental Health Counselor
|Indiana University East in Richmond, Indiana is seeking applicants for a position with our Counseling Staff, reporting to the Dean of Nursing. |
Beginning July 1, 2013, this professional half time position will earn an excellent salary along with paid holidays, paid time off, and retirement contributions paid by the university while providing counseling services to students and provide mental health educational opportunities to the University campus community.
A successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with other counseling staff and the Dean of Nursing to provide confidential group or individual counseling services to students as well as serve as a member of the student crisis team.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
>Provide group or individual counseling services to students
>Provide mental health educational opportunities to the campus community
>Maintain confidential files; provide referrals to appropriate agencies as needed; and serve as a member of the student crisis team
>Provide flexible hours with some evening and weekend hours possible
A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, or related human services field 1 year relevant experience and necessary certification or licensing as applicable
Ability to apply a wide range of clinical techniques with a diverse student population
Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality and interpret privacy regulations
Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to provide training and outreach presentations for diverse groups
