8383 - Customer Service Assistant

Campus Facility Services (CFS) is the department behind the scenes at IUPUI. CFS touches every aspect of the campus, from maintenance and custodial needs, to parking and transportation, to high level building renovations and capital project planning and even off-campus support. As a part of CFS, Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is here to help people get where they need to go efficiently, conveniently and safely. Parking & Transportation Services is a customer- service oriented organization looking for customer-service oriented Customer Service Assistant.

The primary responsibilities for the Customer Service Assistant are as follows:

• Investigate and resolve customer disputes and balance inquiries on citations, ISF charges, payroll non-taken fees and BMV vehicle ownership issues using information in Flex records and imports and paper files from storage. This includes disputes filed with the department and collection agency. • Answer Parking Services web e-mail as it pertains to customer inquiries on account balances, permit orders, citations received and general departmental information. • Generate and send account balance letters and e-mails on a daily basis for accounts that are past due. • Maintain data integrity of the Flex system by expiring bad address and email addresses, merging customers and vehicles. • Back- up to the Parking Services Clerks in answering telephone inquiries and filling in during registration periods and vacations. Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will complete on-line revenue processing training modules within one week of employment. Must be able to proficiently use Windows based computer programs, Microsoft Office programs and the Internet. Must be able to communicate professionally in English both in written and verbal forms.

Required: High School Diploma of GED plus 3 years experience in a customer service position, preferably in an office setting.

Preferred: Associates degree from an accredited institution and knowledge of collections, accounts receivable and general bookkeeping procedures.
