8378 - Parking Services Clerk

Campus Facility Services (CFS) is the department behind the scenes at IUPUI. CFS touches every aspect of the campus, from maintenance and custodial needs, to parking and transportation, to high level building renovations and capital project planning and even off-campus support. As a part of CFS, Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is here to help people get where they need to go efficiently, conveniently and safely. Parking & Transportation Services is a customer- service oriented organization looking for customer-service oriented Parking Services Clerk.

The primary responsibilities for the Parking Services Clerk are as follows:

• Provide customer service by processing customer request and payments and by giving information thru email, phone, mail, and in-person. Assist customers in navigating the Parking Service website. Maintain confidentiality of all customer information. • Ensure data integrity and maintenance of the FLEX computer system by correctly entering permit sales, account balance charges and payments and information for vehicles, customers, appeals, and waitlist requests. • Process individual/parking/special events parking permits for faculty, staff, students, visitors and University affiliates. Process request for refunds, payroll cancellation/corrections, billing and lost/stolen permit reports. • Process account balances payment for citations, garage billings, payroll non taken and vehicle tows. Review balances and compile data on customer accounts disputing charges. • Process citations appeals by ensuring filing requirements are met by customer, submitting meter check, voiding citations eligible for waiver and entering appeal, digital pictures and PDF files to web based application • Maintain alpha and numeric files to ensure current information is on hand and filed accurately. Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must be able to proficiently use Windows based computer programs, Microsoft Office programs and the Internet. Must be able to provide effective customer service, involving conflict management and professional communication skills. Experience with alpha-numeric filing is required, as well as data entry, typing, and data-merging skills.

Required: High School Diploma of GED. 6 months experience in a customer service position (preferably in an office setting).

Preferred: Associates degree from an accredited institution, 3 years’ experience in a Customer Service position. Knowledge of collections, accounts receivable and general bookkeeping procedures.
