8342 - Administrative Secretary

The Center for Young Children is seeking a part-time Administrative Secretary. The desired applicant will have the ability to provide administrative support for the director, assistant director, business manager, and staff, including scheduling appointments and maintaining staff and child records.

Duties include but are not limited to: answer telephones (taking messages and transferring calls); greet visitors; process enrollments; maintain and distribute classroom supply inventory; serve as security regarding people entering and leaving the building; positively interact with children, families, teachers, administrative staff, and guests; maintain files.

This position is part time - 29 hours per week at $15.00 per hour. No benefits are available. The shift hours are 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (one day would be 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.).

Required: At least 21 years of age, High School diploma or GED and 1-3 years office or customer service experience. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills’ demonstrated ability to provide a superior level of customer service; ability to operate computer, office machines, telephone Demands: Mental (detailed work, confidentiality, problem solving, verbal and written communication, customer contact, frequent interruptions); Physical (attendance, timeliness, lifting, carrying, writing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing)
