|Job Summary: The Enterprise Services Integration team (ESI) is looking for a talented and experienced Java developer to join the team that is responsible for Indiana University's enterprise-wide middleware infrastructure based on the open source Kuali Rice software ( http://rice.kuali.org). |
Participates in the development and support of ESI's initiatives at Indiana University; and serves as a key technologist in the ongoing development and evolution of the open source Kuali Rice middleware project and ancillary sub-projects. Performs analysis, design, programming, documentation, troubleshooting, and support of systems for the Kuali community at large and for the installation of these components at Indiana University.
Works collaboratively with groups at IU to deploy solutions that leverage enterprise-level middleware components. Candidate must be team-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills including a high degree of self-initiative and commitment to expand skills and expertise through a variety of methods, including self-study, working/mentoring with colleagues, and both internal and external training.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least three years of software development experience working with large software projects.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Development experience in the Java programming language; knowledge and skill with relational database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, or MySql; and analytical, design, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and a positive customer service attitude including a willingness to learn new technologies, and work in a team-oriented environment.

All members of the team are expected to operate effectively within a dynamic and agile team environment that spans multiple schools, partners, time zones, and locations.

Note: In this role, incumbent will inherently represent Indiana University to the Kuali consortium ( http://www.kuali.org) and will be required to travel occasionally.
