8071 - Serials Binding and Bibliographic Control Coordinator, Libraries

Job Summary: Manages the preparation of library periodicals and serial issues for binding by overseeing the collection and collation of unbound issues into volume units to be sent to the library’s commercial bindery. Processes all bibliographic changes identified in the serials acquisitions unit including title changes, cessations, and merged titles for all serial formats and languages and trains hourly employees.

REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and one year library experience.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills; ability to process detailed work accurately; and ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities. Strong organizational and problem solving skills; ability to perform tasks independently; and excellent oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team; and ability to maintain a high level of productivity.

Preferred: Library acquisitions experience in an online environment and familiarity with Symphony and OCLC.

Note: This position requires moving heavy book trucks, carts, and bindable units of periodical materials and the ability to work extended periods sitting and keyboarding with possible vision strain.
