7975 - Financial Compliance & Project Operations Manager, Kuali Foundation


Job Summary: Holds the position of accountant for the Kuali Foundation and responsibility for all compliance including tax, regulatory changes, and official reporting as well as project operations for designated Kuali projects.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, business, information systems, or a related field and two year of accounting, finance, tax, or directly related experience.

Demonstrated finance, administrative, organizational, and communication skills; ability to quickly develop proficiency with University, Kuali, and external electronic systems; experience with Quickbooks, GAAP policies and practices, and cash and accrual reporting; and understanding of tax, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and good accounting practices.

Excellent grasp of Google Docs and working in "the cloud;” proficiency with email list tools, newsfeed technologies, listserv, video-conferencing, etc.; and a willingness to regularly acquire new skills and quickly learn new computer software/applications.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills; excellent communication and negotiating skills; and the ability to effectively and sensitively interact with a culturally diverse constituency. An “execution mentality” with strong project management skills; willingness and ability to understand, direct, and promote the activities of the organization; and ability to evolve and adapt quickly as members and projects change over time.

Preferred: Experience with Kuali and/or IT projects in a Higher Education sector.

Its members are colleges, universities, commercial firms and interested organizations that share a common vision of open, modular, and distributed systems for their software requirements. The foundation manages a growing portfolio of enterprise software applications for colleges and universities.
