7674 - Department Secretary, History


Job Summary: Serves as receptionist for the Department of History. Answers and directs phone calls and assists walk-in visitors. Handles travel processing for faculty, assists fiscal officer in financial transaction processing, and assists in account reconciliation. Sorts and distributes mail and compiles and maintains faculty, AI, and course assistant office hours and contact information. Maintains course descriptions in OneStart and coordinates course evaluation process. Provides assistance with scanning, printing, and copying work for faculty. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and one year of office/customer service experience.

Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong organizational skills; and a professional attitude. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently in an environment of frequent interruptions. Excellent typing and proofreading skills and proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet Explorer.

Preferred: Two or more years of experience.
