Provide leadership for the Indiana University School of Medicine’s (IUSM) long-term and short-term financial planning and resource allocation. Responsible for IUSM’s internal and external financial reporting, general accounting, treasury and cash management, financial management training and management of assets. Negotiate financial arrangements with University leadership and executive leadership of hospital partners. Participate in administrative consideration of all policies, strategic plans and programs of the IUSM related to the financial resources and operations of the School. Enable customers (department staff and Dean’s office staff) to access, understand, and use financial information for their respective unit.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing annual budget for IUSM; responsible for the preparation of the budget as well as the policies and procedures used to develop the budget. Negotiate financial arrangements with hospital partners and University. Represent IUSM to central university and to health system and practice plan in financial and administrative matters and on advisory committees. Develop resource allocation plans and policies for the IUSM.

The successful candidate will have skills in written and interpersonal communication, giving presentations, customer service and supervisory/management skills. Demonstrated managerial and business acumen with a customer service orientation. Strong business aptitude with experience and demonstrated understanding of complex financial situations. Demonstrated ability and track record of strong financial, analytic and problem solving capabilities and ability to see the broader implications of key decisions.

Required: Master’s degree from accredited institution in Business Administration or Health Administration, plus 10 years of progressive experience in business administration, financial management and employee supervision. CPA preferred.
