10015 - Training Supervisor


***Position is located at the IUPUI Park 100 Campus***

Will provide leadership, initial and on-going development, and supervision to a team of training specialists. This includes but is not limited to the hiring process, providing direct supervision, assessing and offering feedback on performance, training and development, as well as administering discipline and providing advocacy when necessary. A key function of this position is training. It is responsible for providing initial and on-going training to direct reports as well as staff within the Indiana Department of Child Services. This position works collaboratively with the training partnership executive management team and is expected to assist in the development of departmental policies and protocols as well as ensure they are implemented and followed. The position is expected to assist with the development and implementation of curricula and is integral in its functions and helps to achieve organizational and departmental goals. To be successful candidates should have knowledge of * Adult learning theory * Basic teaching and/or training techniques and strategies * Build, maintain, and encourage positive professional relationships * In depth knowledge about the child welfare discipline * Work independently and with a team * Effectively manages time of self and others * Project management - able to assess, plan and manage multiple projects at the same time for self and others * Strong verbal and written communication skills. *Exercises sound judgment and makes effective, timely, and informed decisions. Seeks to identify, analyze, and resolve problems * Promotes and values diversity and inclusiveness * Thinks systemically - understands organizational goals and vision, assesses strengths and challenges, identifies strategies for improvement and communicates them, is able to make connections between direct line work and organizational goals * Professional - models professional behavior, displays and fosters integrity and honesty, engages in ethical and moral behaviors, sets high professional standards for self and staff * Manages conflict - proactively anticipates, manages, and constructively resolves conflicts and disagreements. Identifies ways conflict can lead to positive change and takes action to address conflict when necessary.

 
Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Education or related field, plus at least 3 years of teaching/training experience. Must have experience working directly in the child welfare discipline and prefer direct experience working for the IN Department of Child Services. Knowledge of general computer and training equipment required (i.e. computer, LCD, chart stands, Microsoft and other software products, etc.). Must be at least 18 years and have a valid driver's license in the state of IN.

Preferred: Master's degree from an accedited institution.
